My Work Process (AKA: How It All Comes Together)

With a clear roadmap, projects advance much more smoothly.

Step 1: First Contact

Whether you contact me (or I have reached out to you), we’ll start by establishing your base needs.

What KPI matters most? Do you need to generate more leads? Is your site pulling enough revenue? Do you want a beefier e-mail list?

If I can help, we’ll book a Discovery Call. If not, I’ll point you towards professionals better equipped to serve you.

Step 2: The Discovery Call

A Discovery Call is a video chat or phone call that lasts 1-2 hours. Now, that might sound like a lot… but it’s 100% necessary to understand WHY you need my help.

Step 3: The Proposal

This document will (a) underline the work required to resolve your issue and (b) the price of these services. Approve this document, and we’ll move on to the next step…

Step 4: The Contract

I’ve been burned by “handshake deals” before. So please don’t take this step personally. By signing a contract, we are mutually protected. You get assurance that I’ll complete the agreed-upon work, and I’ll get peace of mind (so I can perform at my best).

At this stage, you’ll owe 50% of the agreed-upon cost. On project completion, the other 50% will be due.

Step 5: Onboarding

Before work can begin, I’ll need everything you currently have on your customers.

Any research, insights, hard data, and so on. Also, if you have a pre-existing brand, send over your guidelines (so I can nail your voice). Lastly, if you have in-house or contract designers, SEOs, programmers, or other professionals, send along their contact info.

Do this upfront, and we’ll minimize the back-and-forth that distracts us from our jobs.

Step 6: The Project

Finally we get to the good part! In this phase, I create your web pages or emails. This starts by conducting extensive research – on bigger projects, I’ll send over a summary on what I uncovered, and the angle I plan on taking.

Then I get down to business. The timeline for first draft completion depends on project scope. But we’ll agree on a deadline upon completion of the research phase.

Step 7: Revisions

First drafts can ALWAYS be improved upon. No matter what, there’s always something fresh eyes will catch. We’ll work together until we get your project to a “publish ready” state.

Step 8: Delivery

Once revisions are complete, I’ll release the final product – upon payment of the second half of my project fee, of course! 🙂

Step 9: Offboarding

Upon project completion, we’ll debrief. What went well? What could gone better? Do you have other needs? Does anyone in your network require my services?
